About LawParVilla
The Metaphor
Singapore has Haw Par Villa — a cultural landmark built in 1937 by the Aw Boon Haw family. Famous for its "Ten Courts of Hell" dioramas, it taught generations of Singaporeans moral consequence through vivid storytelling. Parents brought children there not to frighten them, but to make ethics tangible.
LawParVilla does the same for the AI age.
On 6 March 2026, Singapore's Ministry of Law published the Guide for Using Generative AI in the Legal Sector — a 50-page PDF covering professional ethics, confidentiality, transparency, and a five-step implementation framework. It is comprehensive, well-considered, and important.
It is also a PDF. Professionals build intuition through scenarios, not reading. LawParVilla converts the guide's principles into interactive, scenario-based challenges where choices have vivid consequences — before they become real.
What You Learn
Each of the Ten Courts maps directly to sections of the MinLaw Guide:
- Courts 1–5: The Guide's three key principles — Professional Ethics, Confidentiality, and Transparency — plus AI-specific risks like hallucinations and bias.
- Courts 6–10: The Guide's five implementation steps — oversight frameworks, vendor procurement, rollout, training, and continuous improvement.
Every scenario answer cites the specific section, paragraph, and annex of the MinLaw Guide it draws from. This is not interpretation — it is applied learning.
SEA-LION & Sovereign AI
LawParVilla is the first legal learning experience in Singapore to reference SEA-LION — Singapore's sovereign LLM developed by AI Singapore. Despite being a homegrown AI initiative purpose-built for Southeast Asian contexts, SEA-LION is not mentioned in the MinLaw Guide. Court 7 (Procurement) explicitly addresses this gap.
We believe firms should explore building their own AI-first technology stack using sovereign, open-source tools. Read our guide on how SEA-LION, FOSM, and Zuzu come together to enable private, governed, Singapore-native legal AI.
